Computers have reduced the time of difficult task. A statistic shows that a person has now an average of 10 passwords (Ciampa, 2008), that means the owner of these passwords has stored his/her information in 10 data base and he/she trust in them. However, the disadvantage of computers is that we give all of our private information to a data base. While our online activities are based on sharing and trust, we are in risk of our personal and sensitive information may be stole. We can look our bank statement from home but we must also be confident that our private information can be accessed by others.
While by one side the government and software developers are trying to develop more secure systems and processes to protect our data. On the other side are hackers and crackers who are working to break these secure barriers.
As an example we can see the case of eleven people who were indicted on August, 2005 for allegedly stealing more than 40 million credit and debit card numbers (CNN, August, 2005). They even don’t know each other by name, just by alias, and they were around the world. Three of the defendants are from the United States; three are from Estonia; three are from Ukraine, two are from China and one is from Belarus. But that never stop them to work as a team.
But, “good guys” are also working to protect our information. And I really believe that they are using a good strategy considering more factors than only technology to try to protect sensitive data. “Technology is only one component. Without supporting policy, effective processes and well-trained people, technologies solve nothing”(CNNOnline, May, 2009). Because, beyond technology are for example employees who has complete access a data bases.

We are living around technology. This is everywhere and every time when a new model is released it has more functions that sometimes are very hard to believe. For example, an IPHONE has so many options than sometime you don’t need to access to your computer for a day. Because, you check your mail, you update your blog, you used the GPS to move around and get direction, you check your appointments, and so on.
However, no matter how many options this new tech brings, few people used it. Especially few of them take advantage of the technology that is available and is around in business. Peter Ducker a prestigious manager said "executives have become computer-literate...but not many executives are information literate.' (Wall Street Journal, Dec. 1, 1992), Ducker means that employees who are able to apply technology to a range of situations and problems are the fewer and those are required now.
Also, all the tools are available now, it is not necessary create anything, for example Jennifer Alsever in her article “GPS phones help monitor staff”, stated that small business who want to grow can use the technology available to be competitive. That is the case of Grant Opperman's tiny delivery company, which is trying to compete with the giants of the business such as FEDEX an UPS. Of course he can afford $1 billion tracking FEDEX system. However, he “bought the cheapest IPHONE $200 for each of his drivers, paid $300 for a developer's license from Apple and asked one of his in-house tech specialists to build a custom application that used the phone's global positioning system GPS technology”. "I had to be creative to show my value," (CNNMoney, July 10, 2009) Opperman the CEO of this company says.
So what are we waiting for? Let’s do it.
